They faced the future undismayed

After losing a war which resulted in massive loss of life, the burning of numerous cities and a foreign military occupation “they faced the future undismayed by problems and fearless of trials.” These words are from the Confederate women’s monument at the South Carolina Statehouse. They remind us of the attitude we as Southerners, besieged on all fronts by powerful and wicked enemies, should cultivate today with faith in our God.
